Remix
Chicago
Head
over to Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood for Remix Chicago, a large labor
weekend art festival. Remix Chicago is a two-day recycled art festival that
turns trash into treasure by reworking landfill items into art displays. The
festival also boasts a live music lineup, local food vendors, and artistic
workshops. This event is free!
Midnight
Circus in the Park
What
better way to celebrate the end of summer than an iconic circus performance? The
show will be held at Grand Crossing Park on both Saturday and Sunday this Labor
Day weekend. Midnight Circus performances will dazzle you with dancers,
jugglers, acrobats and more. General admission is $5. Children 2 year old and
under are free.
Labor
Day Fireworks
Starting
at 10:15pm at Navy Pier on Labor Day, catch one of the last Chicago fireworks
displays of the summer. Although this event is free, you will want to get there
early to sort out parking and find a great place to view the fireworks.
African
Festival of the Arts
A
Labor Day weekend favorite in Chicago, the African Festival will take place at
Washington Park Friday through Monday this year. Come out to this free event
and experience African arts, crafts, drummers, ethnic food, cultural dancers,
and music from local African groups.
Chicago
Jazz Festival
