Chicago July 4th 2014 Events

Did you know that the Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of year to travel? Chicago, the third largest city in America, is the perfect place to celebrate Independence Day! Pay tribute to America’s birthday in the Windy City this year by enjoying the gorgeous summer weather and patriotic parties.

What to do in Chicago on 4th of July weekend 2014:

v  Fireworks at Navy Pier! 4th of July isn’t truly complete without a fantastic fireworks display. Go early and find a spot on Navy Pier, or book an evening cruise and watch the fireworks from Lake Michigan. Fun tip: All active military members are able to ride the famous Navy Pier Ferris Wheel for free during the event!

v  Bubblepalooza. Didn’t get enough exercise during the 4th? Check out this fun, family friendly event on July 5th. Participants run through a mixture of colors and bubbles and are asked to wear white! At the end of the run, everyone will receive a bag of color to throw in celebration.

v  Free concerts. Who doesn’t love freebies?! Concerts are held outdoors at Millennium Park, 24 acres of recreational land in the center of Chicago. Enjoy a picnic in the park on the 4th of July to the sounds of patriotic American classics.

v  First Friday indepenDANCE Party. After you finish with fireworks, head over to the House of Blues and for a spectacular dance party. General admission is $20.00.

Make your Fourth of July travels in and out of Midway International Airport less stressful when you park your car with Airways Parking.
